Climbing Plants
There’s a wide variety of climbing plants available and they can provide you with both coverage and stunning flowers. Many are sweetly scented and will attract the bees and other pollinating insects. They’re great for covering up bare walls and fences or trailing along trellis and pergolas. They can also provide a lovely background to your beds.
There are two main types of climbing plants. Bines will climb by wrapping around a trellis for support as they’re growing; while vines have tendrils that they use to attach themselves onto walls or fences as they climb. The sheer variety of climbing plants means you’ll be able to find one to suit your planting conditions and many will happily thrive in large pots or containers.
