Our Dog Policy

It is with real sadness that we have had to make the decision that dogs are no longer allowed to walk through our Garden Centres at either our Ledsham or Heswall sites.

As a family-run business, we are huge dog lovers. Many of us have dogs of our own and we genuinely enjoy meeting yours when you visit us, so this is not a decision we have made lightly.

Why has this changed?

Over a long period of time, we have tried to manage this issue responsibly by:

• Putting up signage across the site
• Providing additional dog waste bins
• Making bags available at the tills
• Sharing regular reminders asking owners to supervise their dogs and clean up after them

Unfortunately, despite all of these efforts, the problem has continued.

We are now regularly dealing with:

• Stock being damaged
• Mess being left behind
• Areas of the centre being walked through daily

Our Decision

Sadly, we can no longer continue operating in this way, and we cannot keep asking our team to clean up after other people’s dogs.

As a result, our policy is now:

• Dogs are not permitted to walk around the Garden Centre
• Dogs are welcome only if they are safely placed in a trolley and remain there during your visit
• Dogs are not permitted inside Sprout Kitchen Garden unless they are also safely in a trolley
